Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。

lammin"とはキャンドル文化の根強いフィンランドの言葉で【温かみ】を意味します。灯したときの灯りの温かみはもちろんですが、自分自身の心のエネルギーチャージであったり、大切な人へのプレゼントであったり、心がほっこり温まるの意味も兼ねています。キャンドルからそんな温かみが繋げていきたいと考えたのが、設立のきっかけ・名前の由来です。

"Lammin" is a Finnish word that has a deep-rooted candle culture and means "warmth." It means the warmth of the light when lit but it can also mean "be a charge of energy for one's own heart, or for a loved one". It can be a gift for someone, or it can also mean something that warms your heart.The idea behind our establishment and the origin of our name is that we wanted to convey that kind of warmth through candles.

Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？

お菓子作りのように、様々なワックス（ロウ）をの分量を計算して、その時々に合ったブレンドを作る所から始まります。着色して、注ぐ／塗る／混ぜる／彫る、、様々な技法を組み合わせて制作します。わたしの作品は、そうして出来上がったベースにひとつひとつアートを施すものが多いです。キャンドル制作は、色や香りを付けてただ流すだけと思われがちですが、様々な方法で身近にある色々な道具を駆使して制作するので、驚かれることもあります。

Just like making sweets, it starts with calculating the amounts of various waxes and creating a blend that suits the occasion. It is created by combining various techniques such as coloring, pouring/painting/mixing/carving. In many of my works, I add art work to each base that is created in this way. People tend to think that making candles is just adding colors and scents and letting them flow, but you may be surprised to find that they are made in a variety of ways and using a variety of tools that are readily available.

Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?

この一年特に、購入希望の声や制作方法を教えて欲しいなど、海外の方から沢山のお問い合わせを頂く中で、小世界と言われるNY、世界に作品をお届け出来るチャンスと感じました。

This past year in particular, we have received many inquiries from people overseas, including requests to purchase them and instructions on how to make them, so we felt this this could be an opportunity to deliver our works to New York, which is often referred to as a smaller version of the whole world, and to the world.

Q4.Which One Is Your Favorite Piece? And Why?
イチオシはどの商品ですか？又その理由は？

オリエンタル×和柄をイメージして、ひとつひとつフリーハンドで手書きをしているペイントアイテムです。独自の手法で試行錯誤して生み出したオリジナルペイントは下書きが出来ないため、沢山練習を重ねました。灯したときの陰影感がとても綺麗です。

Each item is hand-painted freehand with the image of an oriental x Japanese pattern. The original paintings I created through trial and error using a unique method cannot be sketched, so I practiced a lot. The sense of shadow when lit is very beautiful.
