Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
2010年に独立し、ソフィーエショコラをスタートさせました。ブランドの由来はSophie(ソフィー)とChocolat(ショコラ)架空の2人の女の子が選ぶファッション小物がテーマ。Sophieは甘くてガーリーなスタイル、Chocolatはミュージアムや蚤の市巡りが大好き、お互いに刺激し合えるそんな2人が選ぶアイテムを企画製作しています。
In 2010, we became independent and established Sophie et Chocolat. The origin of the brand is based on the fashion accessories chosen by two fictional girls, Sophie and Chocolat. Sophie has a sweet and girly style, and Chocolat loves visiting museums and flea markets, so we plan and produce items that the two of them choose to inspire each other.
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
東京恵比寿にアトリエを構え、Kyokoが描いたキャンバス画をオリジナルファブリックにしたり、そこに手編みのニットやPVCなど異なる様々な素材を組み合わせながら作品を仕上げています。その瞬間にしか出来ないアイディアや可愛いと思う気持ちを2人でシェアしながら形にしていきます。
At the atelier in Ebisu, Tokyo, we create original fabrics from canvas paintings drawn by Kyoko, and combines them with a variety of different materials, such as hand-knitted knits and PVC. The two of us will share the ideas that can only be created at that moment and the feelings that we think are cute and give shape to them.
Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?
ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
新しいカルチャーを次々と発信し続けているNYで自分たちの"可愛い"を提案できれば嬉しいと思い、参加させていただきました。
We have decided to participate because we thought it would be great to be able to propose our own version of ``Kawaii" in New York, where new culture continues to be born and spread one after another.''
