Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
ある時、図書館でとても鮮やかな配色の『さをり織り』の本に出会い、間違いも失敗もない、ただ好きなように織る「感性の織物」であり、機械とは違う人の手だからこそ味わう事ができる風合いを楽しむという理念に魅力を感じ織り始めました。平和の民という意味を持つ最古のネイティブアメリカン、ホピ族から平和の願いを込めてhopiccoが生まれました。
One day, I found a book about ``Saori Ori'' with a very bright color scheme in the library, and I realized that it is a ``fabric of sensibility'' that can be woven in any way you like, with no mistakes or failures, and that you can appreciate it only because it is made by the hands of a person, not by a machine. I started weaving because I was fascinated by the idea of enjoying the texture that can be created. hopicco was born from the Hopi people, the oldest Native American people, who have the meaning of people of peace, expressing their wish for peace.
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
織る工程全てにおいて、ルールがなく自由であることが基本となる織物です。素材の選定から始まり、経糸の配色、配列、、横糸も同じく全ての選択が織り手が今感じる物を織り込める事によって生まれる自由な色の交り合いに織り手それぞれの瞬間的個性を感じる事ができ、同じ物がない唯一無二の温かい織物が生まれます。
This textile is all about weaving freely and no rules applied in all aspects of the weaving process. Starting from the selection of the material, the color scheme and arrangement of the warp threads, and the selection of the weft threads as well, the weavers are able to weave what they feel at the moment, allowing us to feel the momentary individuality of each weaver through the free intermingling of colors. This creates a unique and warm fabric that is unlike any other.

ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
hopiccoのアトリエ兼ショップが、奈良の観光地に所在のため、海外からの旅行者も多く、その中でも作品に目を留めてくださる方々が、ニューヨークとフランスの方が多いと実感しておりました。My atelier/shop is based in Nara where we get many tourists and I realized people who get attracted by my art work are mainly from New York and France.

商品名「モジャンヌマフラー」糸を引っ張り出しながら織るモジャモジャの生地の立体感に、自由な手織りのユニークさを感じて頂き、たくさんの色交りを巻き方の変化で楽しんでいただけます。
My favorite piece is "Mojanne Muffler". You can feel the uniqueness of free hand-weaving in the three-dimensional feel of the fluffy fabric that is woven while pulling out the threads, and enjoy the many color combinations by changing the winding method.
