Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
I wanted to give form to the daily scenery, flowers on the side of the road, and the little flutter I felt every day, so I decided to give form to them through my own favorite "painting," "embroidery," and "making clothes.
"meru meru" is the name of an original imaginary sheep character I used to draw when I was a child. I like the sound of it and it has no particular meaning.
日々の風景や道端の花、日々感じたちょっとしたときめきを形にしたくて、私自身が好きな「絵を描く」「刺繍をする」「服を作る」で形にしてみようと思いました。
meru meru は小さい頃描いていたオリジナルの架空の羊のキャラクターの名前です。音の響きが好きで特に意味はないです。
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
At the present stage, I am responsible for almost all the processes myself. If it is a pattern, I design the fabric (jacquard weave, print, etc.), design the clothes, create the pattern, draw and embroider on the fabric, and sew it all by myself. It is completely handmade.
現段階ではほぼ全ての工程を自身で担っています。柄物であれば生地のデザイン（ジャカード織りやプリントなど）から 服のデザイン、パターンを起こして、布に絵を描いたり刺繍をしたり、縫製まで全て自分でやっています。完全ハンドメイドです。
Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?
ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
I lived in New York City for four years when I was a student. As I lived in the Chinatown and Lower East Side neighborhoods for a time, I often visited the SOHO and NOLITA areas for fun. I have always longed to do a pop-up in that area, and I wanted to take this opportunity to try it out. Also, thankfully, there are some customers from the U.S. who have purchased from our online store, so I was curious to see the local reaction to my work.
学生時代に4年ほどニューヨークに住んでいました。チャイナタウン、ロウアーイーストサイド近辺に住んでいた時期もあり、SOHOやNOLITA地区にはよく遊びに行っていたのでそこでのPop upは憧れでもあり是非やってみたいと思いました。ありがたい事に弊オンラインストアでもアメリカからのお客様が購入してくださっています。
Q4.Which One Is Your Favorite Piece? And Why?

All of my products are made from scratch, so they are all very special to me, but the shirts such as the Sazanka shirt, the Iris shirt, and the Raspberry dress are hand painted directly onto the fabric one by one, rather than printed, so each piece is an exclusive original.
全て一から作っているので全て思い入れのある商品たちですが、山茶花シャツや杜若シャツ、木苺のドレスなどはプリントではなくハンドで布に直に１個ずつペインティングしているので毎着がオリジナルです。

Each piece is made with heart and soul. All fabrics are carefully woven by craftsmen in Japan, and I want you to feel the delicate texture of the fabrics by touching them directly. Each item of clothing (cloth) with flowers drawn or embroidered on it is hand-drawn or stitched by hand, so each item is original. Please feel the warmth of handmade clothes.
