Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
I was interested in jewelry and started working for a jewelry brand, but I was unable to be assigned to a department where I could directly touch the accessories, so I stayed away from jewelry for a while. However, with the support of those around me, a few years later, I started producing accessories that I designed and worked on myself, and began steadily by opening small-scale events.
I named my brand with the following thoughts in mind. Accessories made of metal (MEtal) may give a somewhat cold impression, but we should do them by hand as if we were writing a letter (maIL), carefully and wholeheartedly with the recipient in mind.... With this in mind, each piece is carefully crafted by hand.
ジュエリーに興味があり、ジュエリーブランドに就職しましたが、直接アクセサリーに触れることができる部署への配属が叶わず、しばらくアクセサリーに関わることから離れていました。しかし、周りのサポートもあり、数年後、自身でデザインから手掛けたアクセサリーの制作を始め、小規模なイベント出店からコツコツ始めてきました。
ブランド名は以下のような思いを込めてつけました。金属(MEtal)を扱うアクセサリーはどこか冷たい印象もあるけれど、手紙を書く(maIL)ように、手作業で、相手を想いながら丁寧に心を込めて…。そんな気持ちを込めて、1つ1つ丁寧に手作業で作り上げています。
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
Using 14kgf wire, the shape is made in the manner of dip art, and then covered with a special liquid. The pieces are then colored and coated with resin.
14kgfのワイヤーを使用し、ディップアートの要領で、形を作った後それを専用の液で膜を張らせます。その後着色し、レジンでコーティングしています。

ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
While it is a tough challenge to open a store overseas, I was very pleased to have this opportunity to participate in this event and wanted to know the reaction of overseas customers.
海外出店はハードルが高い中、今回このような機会をいただき、是非参加させていただき、海外の方の反応が知りたいと思いました。
Q4.Which One Is Your Favorite Piece? And Why?
イチオシはどの商品ですか？又その理由は？
These are voluminous earrings with fluttering motifs, with part numbers starting with #61~. The shape of each motif is slightly different so that the earrings sway beautifully when worn, and the color scheme is also carefully chosen.
#61〜から始まる品番の、ひらひらしたモチーフのボリュームのあるピアス(イヤリング)です。身につけた時に揺れて綺麗に見えるよう、モチーフ1つ1つ微妙に形を変えて作っており、配色にもこだわり、またボリュームがあるのに重くない、日本で人気のシリーズです。
