Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
I had to quit my previous job (corporate designer) due to a physical injury, and after recuperating, I decided to try to do a job I loved even more freely.
The meaning of the brand name is a coined word for "shining" and "having a good laugh." I want my accessories to be the ones that can give you strength to smile not only when you are smiling, but also when you are going through a difficult time.
前職（企業デザイナー）を体を壊して辞めざるを得なくなり、療養後、好きだった仕事をさらに自由にやってみようと考えたのがきっかけ。
ブランド名の意味は「輝く」「大笑いする」の造語。笑顔の時はもちろん、辛いことがあった時も笑顔になれるよう寄り添い力を与えられるアクセサリーであるように。
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
I collect and use materials from both Japan and overseas, and carefully handcraft each piece one by one. In particular, I have been fascinated by vintage parts for many years and incorporate them into my designs. In addition, I sometimes create new products with the help of what I am interested in at the time or with the help of people I have met. Since I have worn many different kinds of clothes myself, I have a wide variety of designs available. No matter who comes to our store, you are sure to find something that suits you.
国内外の素材を集めて使用し一つ一つ大切に手作業で製作しています。特に長年ヴィンテージのパーツに魅せられており、デザインに取り入れています。また、その時気になっているもの、ご縁を頂いた方に協力を得て新しい商品を生み出すこともあります。自分自身がいろんな洋服を着てきたため、多種多様なデザインがあり、どなたに来ていただいても必ずお似合いのものを見つけていただけます。
Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?
ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
I have visited New York several times in my previous jobs, and it is my favorite country I have ever been to, and it has influenced me very much. I hope that the people of New York will see the accessories and handiwork that I have been making for a long time, and that we will be able to connect with each other through them, even though we live far away from each other.
前職で何度か訪れたNYが今まで自分が行ったことのある国では一番好きで、とても影響を受けました。NYの人々に自分が長く製作してきたアクセサリーと手仕事を見てもらい、遠く離れた地でもアクセサリーを通して繋がることができたらいいなと思っています。
Q4.Which One Is Your Favorite Piece? And Why?
イチオシはどの商品ですか？又その理由は？
In addition to the earrings and pierced earrings that I usually make, this time I made a scarf necklace from a 400-year-old Arimatsu shibori (Arimatsu shibori is said to be the most famous dyed fabric in Japan), which was given to me by "Tsuyu-kusa," a yukata brand of Arimatsu shibori. This product also addresses environmental issues faced by the fashion industry. We would like you to see the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship along with the earrings and necklace.
自分がいつも製作しているピアスやイヤリングはもちろんですが、今回は400年の歴史ある日本でもっとも有名な染物と言われる有松絞りを有松絞りの浴衣ブランドの「つゆくさ」さまからお譲りいただきスカーフネックレスに仕立て上げています。それはファッション業界が抱える環境問題にも取り組んだ商品となっています。ぜひピアス、ネックレスと併せてそちらの日本の伝統工芸の美しさもご覧いただきたく思います。
