Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
I went to an art college and studied glass art. In order to create an opportunity to connect with society in addition to studying, I established my own brand when I was a junior in college, utilizing the skills I was learning at the time.
The name of the brand is a combination of the initial letters of myself and the members who were there at the time of its establishment. Although I am now working alone, I still cherish the brand name as a token of my gratitude to the members.
美術大学に進学しガラス工芸を学んでいました。学業だけではなく社会につながるきっかけを作る為に自身が学んでいる技術を生かし大学３年生の時にブランドを設立しました。
ブランド名の由来は自身の名前と設立当時にいたメンバーの頭文字を組み合わせつけたものです。現在は一人で活動をしていますが、当時のメンバーへ感謝も込め今でも大切にしているブランド名です。
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
I carefully consider and select many parts, and then reassemble them after repeatedly looking at the texture, color combination, and balance. If an idea cannot be decided immediately, I leave it for a few days, and only those that I feel are "the one" when I look at them again are commercialized.
自身で色ガラスを仕入れ、それらを組み合わせ電気炉を使って焼成し、研磨をしながら成形をしていきます。キルンワークとコールドワークと呼ばれる技術の組み合わせです。型を使用せず全て一から制作をしているので全て一点ものです。 また、色の組み合わせも自身の感覚で決めているもので、自由に沢山の色を使って絵を描いている感覚と似ています。
Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?
ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
I have never exhibited overseas as ON, so I honestly felt that I would like to try my hand at it, taking the opportunity of being invited to participate in this event. I also have an image of New York as a place where many people come and go, and where there are plenty of things to do and see. I am curious to see what kind of reaction I will get to my works in such an unique place. I have not had the opportunity to meet people from overseas through ON items, so I am very much looking forward to having them see my work.
ONとして海外に出店をしたことがなかったので、今回お声をかけていただいたのをきっかけにまずはチャレンジしてみようというのが正直なところです。また、沢山の人が行き交い、沢山のモノやコトに溢れているイメージがニューヨークにあります。そのような場で自身が作り出すものに対してどのような反応があるのか気になります。中々海外の方とONのアイテムを通して触れ合うきっかけがなかったので見ていただける事はとても楽しみです。
Q4.Which One Is Your Favorite Piece? And Why?
イチオシはどの商品ですか？又その理由は？
"gem-a line"
This series was the first item we designed as ON. It has been gradually improved and slightly developed, and has now become one of ON's most representative products. I cut and polish each piece of glass myself to create the shape.I do not use molds, so each piece is one-of-a-kind. I also created a necklace for the first time. It is a unique piece made with many gem parts.

「gem-a line-」シリーズは一番最初にデザインしたアイテムです。少しずつ改良したりわずかに進化しつつ、ONといえば「gem-a line-」が定番です。そして、ガラス一つ一つを私自身が削り研磨し、形を作り出しています。型を使わないので、全て一点ものなのもポイントです。 また、今回初めてネックレスを制作しました。gemパーツを沢山使用し制作した一点ものです。
