Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
When I worked on a photo shoot as a makeup artist, I made my own accessories for the shoot cuts, which led me to establish my brand. The client of the shoot loved my accessories and bought almost all of them. I still vividly remember the joy I felt at that moment.
The "cili" in the brand name "cili jewels" comes from the first letter of "Cause I love it", and "jewels" means "treasures". The brand name expresses my wish to provide customers with treasured accessories that they can truly love.
メイクアップアーティストとして撮影の仕事をした時に 撮影カット用に自分でアクセサリーを作ったことがきっかけとなり、ブランドを設立しました 撮影の依頼主が私の作ったアクセサリーを気に入り、ほとんど全てのアクセサリーを買って下さったのです。 あの時の喜びは今でも鮮明に覚えています。
cili jewelsの"cili"は"Cause I love it."の頭文字をとり、 "jewels"には"宝物"という意味を込めています。 お客様にとって、「心から大好き」と思えるような宝物のようなアクセサリーをお届けしたいという想いを込めています。
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
First, I create a rough sketch of the design I want to make in my mind. After that, I decide on the materials to be used, think about the structure of the product while working with my hands, and make a number of prototypes. Depending on the design, I sometimes get an idea of the design the moment I see a part and immediately start working on the prototypes without making a rough sketch. In order to decide on the color, shape, size, etc., so that the item will "look beautiful when worn," I check the prototypes by wearing them many times to complete the product.
頭の中にある作りたいデザインをラフ画に起こします。 その後、使用する材料を決め、どういう構造で製作するのかを手を動かしながら考え、 いくつも試作品を作ります。 デザインによってはパーツを見た瞬間にデザインが思い浮かび、 ラフ画に起こさずにすぐに試作に移るケースもあります。 「身につけた時に綺麗に見える」様に、色・形・サイズなどを決める為 試作品を何度も身につけてチェックし、ベストを探して完成させていきます。

ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
When I was a university student, I studied abroad in California, USA. I visited New York twice during that time, and I have the impression that New York is a place where wonderful things from all over the world are gathered. I wanted to showcase my work in such a wonderful place, so I decided to take on this challenge.
大学生の時にアメリカのカリフォルニア州に語学留学をしました。 その時に2度ニューヨークを訪れましたが、ニューヨークには世界中の素敵なものが集まっている印象があります。 そのような素晴らしい場所で、私の製作したものをお披露目したい、という思いがあり、この度チャレンジすることを決めました。
