Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
The inspiration for establishing the brand came from my love of all things glittery and the excitement I felt when wearing my favorite jewelry. I realized that this feeling of excitement is universal and thought, "Why not bring a sense of wonder to girls everywhere?" With this theme in mind, I founded the brand.
Regarding the meaning of the brand name: "CHOCO" was my nickname while I was studying abroad. "KYOKO" is my real name. I included the old-fashioned name "Kyoko" to add a touch of Japanese tradition. By having both "CHOCO" and "KYOKO" in the brand name, I wanted to convey a message to women that they have endless possibilities and can be anything they want to be. Moreover, our brand is built on the hidden concept of a woman's lifetime journey, expressed through five different series. We used the two names in the brand to encompass the various facets of women—cute, alluring, strong, and vulnerable. The "BY" was added to give it a high-end feel and I hope you think so!
ブランド設立のきっかけ：幼少期よりキラキラしたものが好きで、お気に入りのジュエリーを身につけた時に感じるときめきが大好きでした。このときめきはきっと世界共通なのでは！と思い、"女の子にときめきを"というテーマの元、ブランドを設立いたしました。
ブランド名の意味：CHOCOは海外留学中の私のニックネーム。KYOKOは本名です。京子という古風な名前を入れたのは、日本らしさを取り入れたかったから。そしてCHOCOでありKYOKOでもある様に、何者にでもなれる無限の可能性があるという女性へ向けたメッセージを込めています。また当ブランドでは、女性の一生を隠れコンセプトに5つのシリーズを展開しています。女性の可愛らしさや妖艶さ、強さ、弱さなど、様々な面を持つ女性をイメージしたのも、ふたつの名前をブランド名に入れた理由です。BYで繋いだのは、ハイブランド感のある名前にしたかったので笑
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
We handle everything from design to production in-house. Each season, we select a major theme, and our designs are based on this theme. For example, the theme for 2023 is "INVADER." We envision CHOCO's jewelry taking over the world, leading a group of girls with them. Starting with the design sketches, we use computer-aided design (CAD) and sometimes create prototypes by hand to bring our designs to life.
デザインから制作までを全て自社で行なっています。シーズンごとの大きなテーマを決め、そのテーマに沿ったデザインを起こしていきます。ちなみに2023年のテーマは"INVADER"。CHOCOのジュエリーを身につけた女の子達を引き連れて、世界を侵略していくイメージ笑。デザイン画を元に、デザインによってはCADであったり、原型を手作業で作成したりしながら製品化していきます。
Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?
ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
I've always had a goal of expanding my brand internationally and not limiting it to Japan. Therefore, the opportunity to open in New York felt like a significant step towards that goal and was of great interest to me.
もともと海外にいたこともあり、日本だけではなく、海外を視野に入れたブランドの展開を目標に活動しております。その為ニューヨークに出店することは、目標への一歩と感じており、興味がありました。
Q4.Which One Is Your Favorite Piece? And Why?
イチオシはどの商品ですか？又その理由は？
While I love all of our products, I'd like to recommend the Charm Series, which is one of our most popular collections. Some of the designs have special features, like allowing the motifs to always face forward and having the connectors rotate 360 degrees. This allows you to wear them as earrings or necklaces, depending on your preference. Additionally, we use sterling silver with ceramic resin plating to create colorful and vibrant designs.
I'd also like to introduce another favorite: the "pale CHOCO" series featuring freshwater pearls. Pearl jewelry is abundant, but we always add a touch of CHOCO's distinctive style to our pearls. Each pearl is individually hand-drilled and embellished with silver lip motifs, laser-engraved patterns, and charming facial features. I encourage you to see these pieces in person!
全ての商品がイチオシですが、当ブランドの人気商品のチャームシリーズは特におすすめです。一部のデザインにはギミックが施されており、モチーフがしっかりと正面を向くように、接続部分のマルカンが360度回転する様になっています。その為ピアスでもネックレスでも、お好きなところに付けてお使いいただけます。またスターリングシルバーにセラミック樹脂を使用したメッキ加工を施し、カラフルでPOPなデザインに仕上げています。
もうひとつ、イチオシ商品を紹介させてください笑。淡水パールを使用したpale CHOCOのシリーズです。パールを使ったジュエリーは沢山存在しますが、当ブランドのパールには必ずCHOCOのカラーを添えています。ひとつひとつ手作業で穴あけしたパールに、シルバー製のリップモチーフがついていたり、レーザー加工したパールにチャーミングなお顔がついていたり、、、。ぜひ実物を見てみてください！
