Q1. What Made You Decide To Establish Your Own Brand? What Is Meaning Of Brand Name?
ブランド設立のきっかけは何ですか？また、ブランド名の意味を教えてください。
While running an atelier that specializes in creating printed designs, among the wide range of textile designs, I felt the desire to start a textile brand that focuses on hand-drawn designs unique to Kyoto, where the culture of dyeing and weaving designs still remains.
The brand name "uwaru" was named in the hope that the unique patterns would be loved in daily life, take firm root, and "植わる = to plant."
テキスタイルデザインの幅広い範囲に及ぶ意匠の中でも、プリントの図柄作成を生業としているアトリエを運営しているうちに、染織図案の文化が残る京都ならではの手描き図案にこだわったテキスタイルブランドを始めたいという思いが募り「uwaru」を設立いたしました。
ブランド名である「uwaru」は個性的な柄たちが、日々の生活（くらし）の中で愛され、しっかりと根を下ろし「植わる」ようにとの思いで名付けました。
Q2. Please Describe Your Production Process.
商品はどのような工程を経て出来上がるのでしょうか？
The designs, which are freely conceived and sketched over and over again, are then printed at a dyeing factory in Kyoto, the center of the dyeing and weaving industry, and transformed into unique printed fabrics.
自由な発想で何度もスケッチを重ねて形にした図案は、染織産業の中心であるここ京都の染工場で捺染してもらいユニークなプリント生地に生まれ変わります。
Q3. What Made You Interested In NY Market?
ニューヨーク市場に興味を持った理由は何ですか？
We are often told by foreigners that the patterns of "uwaru" have a Japanese feel. We decided to participate in the exhibition out of curiosity to see how people in New York would feel when they picked up our textiles with a "Japanese" taste, which are unconsciously incorporated in our works.
外国の方々に「uwaru」の柄は日本を感じるとよく言われます。知らずに漂う「和」のテイストのテキスタイルをNYのみなさんに手に取っていただき、どんな風に感じていただけるのかという好奇心から出展にいたりました。

All of the lovable and unique printed fabrics, which are designed by ourselves and printed in Kyoto, are our favorites.
